Furious that his fiancee Virginia has left him for classical music Maestro Borrstein, a surgeon named Dr. Hellman decides to take revenge by cutting off the Maestro's hand. The "operation" was performed for "medical necessity" after the Maestro cut his hand and Virginia brought him to Dr. Hellman. Now, no longer able to play the piano, the Maestro ends his life. But the Maestro's severed hand takes on a life of its own, coming back to haunt Dr. Hellman.
